SMELT created a series of furniture with 100% recycled waste plastic, sourced from old household objects and in specific gardening utilities. They are saving polypropylene plastic waste from being burned, going to landfill or even ending up in nature. Recycled plastic sheets are created using a semi-industrial sheet press. This technology allows to produce furniture without generating waste during the production process. The leftover pieces, cuttings from the sheet can be shredded and pressed into another sheet again.
