The French startup fabBrick is turning old clothes into building materials to create furniture or insulating partitions. The building material is made from recycled textiles, not just cotton but also polyester, elastane or PVC that have been shredded and then combined with a bio-sourced glue before being placed in a mold and mechanically compressed, the wet bricks are removed from the mold and set up to dry for two weeks before using. Each fabBrick brick contains the equivalent of two t-shirts.
