The Studio Sarmite has developed with Riga Technical University a non-woven material made of post-consumer textile waste otherwise bound for incineration. Thanks to a unique production method they were able to turn theses inferior mixed blends into a bio-textile. The lightweight leather-like material reveals new aesthetics and highlights the previous lives of each worn garment through color and structural nuances. The material can be recycled at the end of its life and repurposed for new production cycles over and over again.
