Cork has little negative environmental impact. Harvesting is sustainable. A tree must be 25 years old to harvest and can be harvested every 14 years. The typical lifespan of a cork tree is 150-200. The manufacturing process produces almost no waste and cork flooring is actually the by-product of the cork stoppers of wine bottles. At the end of its life, cork is biodegradable.
Cork is naturally resistant to mold, mildew and is an antimicrobial. It does not off-gas and is fire resistant. Comfortable underfoot and has a give when compressed. The acoustics are good and adding cork into rubber gives Zandur’s rubber the best acoustics in class.
Sustain Cork Rubber is one of the most innovative flooring products on the market. Bringing the properties of cork into rubber flooring reduces glare, creates ease of installation and maintenance and greatly enhances the acoustics of a rubber floor.
