Coperni’s Ariel Swipe Bag, introduced at Disneyland Paris, is 3D-printed using recyclable silicone via Rapid Liquid Print’s gravity-free process developed at MIT. The bag is printed inside a water-based gel, ensuring stability and precision as a needle extrudes layers of silicone in Ariel’s signature blue. The innovative process allows for soft, stretchable products using non-toxic materials, minimizing environmental impact. The bag is ready for use immediately post-printing, bypassing extensive post-processing. Rapid Liquid Print’s method differs from traditional 3D printing by “drawing” objects in suspension, enabling unique designs like the Ariel Swipe Bag.
