Shell Homage transforms discarded eggshells and nutshells into biodegradable composite materials that offer a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics. The shells are cleaned, dried, ground into a fine powder, and combined with plant-based binders to form a versatile composite. The material can be processed using pressing, extrusion, injection moulding, or 3D printing, with each technique producing different surface qualities and mechanical properties, from rigid stone-like forms to flexible sheets. Combining industrial fabrication with hand-finishing, each piece is unique in color and texture while remaining fully compostable at the end of its life.
